This is Why We Samba! (April 29 – 1:00pm)
Samba Soul Presents: This is Why We Samba! A new stage show that weaves individual Samba journeys into a collective samba story of inspiration and soulful community. This show is about passion, love, drive, and most of all our why for dancing the Brazilian art of Samba.
Samba Soul is a community of hardworking, powerful women who come together to uplift the community through Samba dance. This expressive show is performed with heart and Samba Soul.
Directed by Gisella Ferreira, a Brazilian American performance artist and director of Samba Soul Dance Company and Escola de Samba.
Her titles include: The 1st Samba Queen USA/ Rainha do Samba, Muse/ Musa do Brazilian Day SD and Hollywood Carnival Queen.
She is an instructor in Los Angeles specializing in: Samba, Afro-Brazilian, Capoeira, Hip- Hop, and Brazilian Baile Funk.She has shared the stage with such artists as Jamie Fox, Wil I AM, Sheila E, Quetzal Guerrero, Victoria Justice and B.O.B. and she just came back from parading in Rio’s Carnaval in Brazil.
